- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation, you will meet with Steve Tomlin, a Vice President of Operations at Icon. You are a candidate for a position as an Operations Manager for a new and innovative product. Steve's goal is to test your knowledge and determine if you're qualified for such an important position. Including you, there are three finalists for the position. With an excellent performance today, you will improve your chances of attaining this position.
Unit 2: Forecasting, Supply Chain, and Inventory (0.5 - 1 hour)

- Identify common mistakes in forecasting operations.

- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation, Icon is entering a joint venture with a retail software store, Soft Serve, who in exchange for discounted products has agreed to grant naming rights to Icon. However, since Icon's title count and diversity is somewhat limited, Icon has agreed to allow other companies' products to complete the product mix. You will meet with Carla Jackson and Bruce Madison to discuss what type of supplier should be chosen to complete the product mix. Then, you'll meet again with Carla and Bruce later that day after suppliers have been determined to discuss inventory management.
Unit 3: Just-in-time Systems and MRP (1 - 2 hours)
- Select your responsibilities regarding just-in-time systems operations.
- Identify the steps for creating just-in-time systems.
- Identify how just-in-time systems can be improved.
- Discuss the merits of creating a just-in-time system.
- Match the MRP components with their definitions.
- Sequence the steps for developing an MRP.
- Simulation Overview:
- In this simulation, you are an Operations Manager at Icon's Consumer Products and Services Division. You are a member of a team whose responsibility is to discuss different alternatives and take action to make the production of mobile electronics more efficient. Your team, which consists of Amanda Douglas and Chala Merino has met several times and is now meeting to discuss the possibility of implementing a just-in-time system (JIT). You are a major proponent of implementing a JIT system, so you need to discuss the advantages of JIT, as well as the responsibilities necessary to properly introduce it.
