CompTIA + Storage Networking Industry Association = a New Storage+ Certification Program

Currently in the works is a new certification program from CompTIA in conjunction with the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) tentatively called "CompTIA Storage+ Powered by SNIA." CompTIA and SNIA need help in developing the program and have put out a call for subject matter experts to contribute their expertise.

CompTIA and SNIA need storage experts such as: storage architects, storage managers, storage network administrators, network managers with a concentration on storage, storage security managers, backup and business continuity managers, and other storage professionals that fall under similar job roles. Accepted subject matter experts will gather at CompTIA's headquarters in Downers Grove, Illinois on January 31 – February 4, 2011 to identify job tasks and develop the exam's blueprint.

Like the other CompTIA certification programs, the Storage+ certification will be vendor-neutral and designed to validate the storage skills and knowledge required of today's storage professionals who must manage storage network infrastructures and information assets.
