Upgrading to Microsoft Excel 2007
If you recently purchased Excel 2007 or are thinking about upgrading from a previous version, do yourself a favor and consider enrolling in some form of Microsoft Excel 2007 training. The new edition of Excel features a major redesign. In fact the entire suite of Office products has been dramatically changed making Microsoft Office 2007 training a terrific idea.
The main change is a big one: the Office ribbon. The ribbon attempts to group common tools together under a tabbed menu type of format. For example, you'll see the following tabs when you open Excel 2007: Home, Insert, Page Layout, Formula, Data, Review, View, and Developer (Developer is optional).
The idea is that each tab has related tools. If you want to add a formula to your spreadsheet, you simply go to the Formula tab and find the one you want on the toolbar. However, it's not that easy - especially for longtime users. Many users simply can't find what they're looking for! Everything has been rearranged. That's where Microsoft Excel 2007 training can really help. Once you understand the ribbon and its common features across the suite, you'll find that the tools are still available; it just takes a different way to get to them.
