Visualize This: Go Live with the Beta Release of Visual Studio 2010

Microsoft recently released the beta release of Visual Studio 2010, allowing you to get a jump start on the changes in store for the final product. With its “Go Live” license, you can use Visual Studio 2010 to create applications now before ultimately upgrading to the official version when it is released this spring.
Highlights of Visual Studio 2010 include new tools such as a new editor, prototyping, cloud development, visual design, modeling, and multi-core programming tools as well as improved integration, multi-monitor support, and partner extensions. Other enhancements include new project management tools, reports, planning worksheets, debuggers, dashboards, and testing tools. These tools allow you to plan and build an application correctly as well as confirm the integrity of your application through debugging and testing.
Visual Studio 2010 provides you with an integrated development environment where you can complete all planning, testing, coding, modeling, debugging, and deployment tasks.
Visual Studio 2010 will be released in three different versions including: Visual Studio 2010 Professional with MSDN, Visual Studio 2010 Premium with MSDN, and Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate with MSDN. Each version adds additional features. For example, the Ultimate version is fully loaded while the Premium version has a few less features. The Professional version, while still loaded with features, has the least amount of features.
Each version offers Team Foundation Server, Development Platform Support, Testing, and Debugging and Diagnostics features as well as software (Windows Azure, Windows Server, SQL Server, Toolkits, Software Development Kits, and Driver Development Kits) for development and test use. In addition, each version offers MSDN subscription benefits such as MSDN Magazine, MSDN Flash newsletter, MSDN Online Concierge, priority support in the MSDN forum, technical support incidents, and Microsoft E-learning course collections.
The Premium and Ultimate versions of Visual Studio 2010 add additional software (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics, Windows Embedded, and all other Servers) for development and test use as well as software (Microsoft Expression Studio 3, Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010, Visio Premium 2010, and Project Professional 2010) for production use.
Why download the release candidate now? Obtaining a Go Live license allows you to experience the new features right away as well as get started on planning, building, testing, debugging, and deploying your next project before the final release is issued.
