The Cisco CRS1 Essentials training class introduces you to Cisco's Carrier Routing System, or CRS, platform and its major features and functions. The course will build upon that information by improving your understanding of the platform.

IIn this CRS1 training class, you will explore the technology and the features of certain elements of the platform in order to fully understand the benefits of choosing Cisco's CRS. We've designed the course to have specific, clear, task-oriented, objectives built around certain job functions. You'll work in both the classroom as well as the hands-on labs. We designed our review questions and the interactive lab exercises so that you may demonstrate your abilities. The knowledge and skills you obtain from taking this course are measured during the reviews and labwork which shows your progress.

To get the most out of this class, you must bring your own laptop and Ethernet cable to class so that you can participate in our hands-on exercises.

The Cisco CRS1 Essentials training class features a certified instructor who will lead you through a variety of lectures and demonstrations and then assist you in the hands-on components of the course. Realistic steps, real-world scenarios, and practical advice ensure that you are learning the Cisco essentials that you will encounter on the job.

This training class also comes in an onsite version for companies who need to train a larger group. Instead of flying your team to our facility, enroll in the onsite Cisco CRS1 Essentials training class. We'll fly our instructor to your location and conduct the training there. This option becomes a cost-effective alternative when you have at least six students.

What You'll Learn

By enrolling in this CRS1 training class, you will learn about the major features and benefits of a Cisco Systems CRS router and Cisco IOS XR Software, configuring CRS platforms, backing out of configuration changes, and restoring older versions of configuration. You will get hands-on experience installing Cisco IOS XR Software, package information envelopes, and software maintenance updates, and you will work on configuring Cisco IOS XR Software security features.

In addition, you will learn about configuring routing protocols in a complex multi-autonomous system environment, enabling Multicast routing on Cisco IOS XR Software platforms, configuring Multiprotocol Label Switching on the Cisco IOS XR Software platform, converting existing route map configurations, using Route Policy Language, using Craft Works Interface for configuring, viewing, and checking configurations and obtain alarm status of CRS nodes, and troubleshooting typical CRS hardware and software problems
