The Cisco Unified Wireless Network v4.0 training class is designed to teach you about planning, deploying, and managing enterprise WLANs. The curriculum is based on controllers, lightweight access points, and the advanced feature set so that you can get hands-on experience working with plans, deployment, and management of enterprise WLANs incorporating Cisco's Unified Wireless Network solutions.

First, the certified instructor will give you a quick overview of the solution. Next, you'll explore the features, components, and deployment of the system. This CUWN training classes reinforces the instruction by providing you with hands-on configuration labs that range from topics such as Open and Web authentication configurations, CLI and controller web configurations, and end-to-end 802.1X configurations including controller, client, and AAA server.

During the Cisco Unified Wireless Network v4.0 training class, you will also examine Cisco's Wireless Control System and work with it in the labs including using WCS for managing the WLAN controller, WCS templates, WLAN controller configuration, creating admin accounts, importing maps, using maps, and working with WCS for performing administrative functions on the deployed wireless network.

Finally, you will learn how to maintain WLANs with Cisco's Unified Wireless Network solution. You'll take a look at the features of the product, standard maintenance tasks, debugging tools, and learn detailed troubleshooting methodologies.

To participate in the hands-on labs, you will need your own laptop computer running Windows XP. This laptop must have an available 32-bit Cardbus slot, an Ethernet port, and a 9-pin serial port (or a USB-to-serial adapter). In addition, you must have administrator rights to the laptop for installing wireless client drivers.
