The Cisco ONS 15454 MSTP Turn Up, Test, Provisioning, and Operation v7.0 training class is a four day long course that allows you to get hands-on experience and background information by creating different dense wavelength division multiplexing topologies using Cisco's latest ONS 15454 multiservice transport platform equipment. You'll spend time working on tasks both in the classroom and lab and be fully prepared for situations you will encounter back home on the job.
This class does not focus on network design, however, we do introduce you to Cisco's optical network design tool, MetroPlanner and discuss the role it plays in the design and implementation of DWDM networks.
The instructor-led class delivers all the skills need for successfully creating MSTP networks. Among these skills are fiber cleaning techniques, acceptance testing, and working with optical power meters, optical spectrum analyzers, and variable laser generators.
The Cisco ONS 15454 MSTP Turn Up, Test, Provisioning, and Operation v7.0 training class does not go into the TDM functions of the ONS 15454. If you want to learn about those functions, chose the Cisco ONS 15454 SONET Turn Up, Test, Provisioning, and Operation course instead.

What You'll Learn
By attending this OMSTP class, you will learn about creating MetroPlanner configurations, point-to-point networks, amplified point-to-point networks, amplified point-to-point networks with optical add-drop multiplexers, three-node ring with active and passive optical add-drop multiplexers, multishelf configurations, reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer, and protected three-node rings incorporating multirate transponder cards. You will also configure fiber protection and install Ethernet connections and MXP MR 2.5G and MXP MR 10DME cards into existing DWDM topology.
You will explore the ONS 15454 MSTP system and its major features and functions. Additional MSTP equipment you will look at includes: common control cards, optical service channel cards, optical amplifier cards, multiplexer and demultiplexer cards, optical add-drop multiplexer cards, and transponder, muxponder, and protection cards.
