Telephone system administrators and engineers should take this course to learn about installing and managing the Cisco Unity Unified Messaging server. You may know this product by its former name, the ActiveVoice Unity product.

Unity allows users to integrate voice mail, email, and fax messages into one message store. This means that Microsoft Outlook email users can also manage voicemail from Outlook by incorporating Unity's Voice Mail for Outlook client access software. Now, thanks to text-to-speech technology, it is possible to listen to emails over the phone using Unity! In addition, faxes can be forwarded from the Inbox to external fax machines. You can master this technology by taking the Cisco Unified Communications System Administration/Engineer training class.

Our UCSAE lab offers real-world, hands-on experience on the latest equipment, hardware, and software. You will build and test Unified Messaging deployments as well as configure and troubleshoot Unity Servers during your stay with us. Each student's pod is complete with Unity and a CallManager server and is in its own domain. You will configure Unity integrations in their entirety and configure messaging between domains. In addition, a simulated PSTN allows you to have internal and external IP phones right in your pod.

Labs allow you to create real dial plans, configure call restriction tables, install all software (not just Unity - only Windows 2003 is pre-installed), build domain controllers for your own domain, prep the system, install patches, build and test messaging networks, add users to your domain, send messages across the network to other domains, and integrate with your CallManager cluster. You will also work with CallManager services and configurations by configuring Unity integrations on the CallManager and then configuring the integrations on Unity Server. Other labs include VMO, text-to-speech, and troubleshooting.
