Interacting with Excel - The Ribbon is the main location for menus and tools. When you choose a Ribbon tab, the Ribbon displays groups that contain sets of related tools. Some tools are buttons you click to perform a task immediately. Some tools expand to display simple lists or menus, and some tools display galleries.

Entering and editing text and values - After you create a workbook, you can begin entering data in cells. Cell entries can include many types of data, including text and values. When you type, data is entered in the active cell.

Managing Workbooks - If you find that you need repeatedly use the same set of Microsoft Excel 2007 workbooks, you can save them as a workspace. A workspace is a logical container of related workbooks that retains page setups, window sizes, and display settings. A workspace does not save the workbooks themselves, so you'll need to save changes in each workbook individually.

Logical Functions - You can use conditional logic in a formula to return a specific result depending on whether a certain test, or condition, is met. If the condition is true, one result will be calculated. If the condition is false, a difference result will be displayed.

Using Lookup Functions - You can find a value in a range of related data in a worksheet by using lookup functions. These functions find a value in the first row or column of a list and then return a corresponding value from another row or column.

Creating Data Tables - A data table is a range that displays the results of changing certain values in one or more formulas. The different values you want to enter in a formula are also included in the data table. A data table can have either a single variable or two variables.

Exporting and importing XML Data - Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a set of rules for structuring and designing data formats that are exchanged between applications. You can improt data from an XML file into an Excel workbook. You can also export data from a workbook to an XML file. To import or export XML data, you ue the XML Source task pane to map the workbook to a user-defined XML schema (.xsd file).
