Exploring the Excel Window - The Microsoft Excel window has several features that help you use the program. However, the first thing you need to know is how to start Microsoft Excel.

Interacting with Excel - The Ribbon is the main location for menus and tools. When you choose a Ribbon tab, the Ribbon displays groups that contain sets of related tools. Some tools are buttons you click to perform a task immediately. Some tools expand to display simple lists or menus, and some tools display galleries.

Entering and editing text and values - After you create a workbook, you can begin entering data in cells. Cell entries can include many types of data, including text and values. When you type, data is entered in the active cell.

Using Multiple Worksheets - For various resons, you may want to have more than workbook open at a time. You can open an dwork with as many workbooks as your computer memory permits. Each workbook has its own window and a unique button on the Windows taskbar

Linking WorkSheets with 3-D Formulas - Excel formulas can refer to cells or ranges in other worksheets, or a range of worksheets, within a workbook. This tyipe of formula creates a link between worksheets. When two worksheets are linked, any change that you make in the source cell is automatically updated in the linked cell.

Linking Workbooks - Just as you can link multiple worksheets within a workbook, you an also link multiple workbooks. You an do this by writing a formula in one workbook that refers to a cell, range, or name in another workbook. References to other workbooks are called external references. You can maintain workbook links even if the workbook that is referred to is renamed.
