In Deploying Six Sigma training

studies and how they should be directed.

Unit 1: Starting a Six
Sigma Project (0.5 - 1 hour)
- Identify guidelines for Six
Sigma projects.
- Identify guidelines for prioritizing
Six Sigma projects.
- Recognize Six Sigma team
roles.
- Recognize the essential characteristics
of a Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
- Recognize aspects of team
training.
- Identify steps for choosing
a Six Sigma project team.
- Simulation Overview:
- In the simulation at the
end of this unit, you will meet with Bruce
Madison, Director of Information Services
at Icon International, and Janet Porter, Director
of Business Development. You will discuss
the guidelines for Six Sigma projects and
identify the characteristics of the Six Sigma
team roles. You will also outline the steps
for choosing a Six Sigma team.
Unit 2: Six Sigma in
Action (0.5 - 1 hour)
- Identify the Sigma level
of the problem.
- Recognize the use of a Pareto
chart to highlight major causes of problems.
- Identify input and output
relationships that affect problem causes.
- Identify the problem by using
a control chart.
- Identify the value of removing
process variation in terms of the Sigma quality
level.
- Generate a new control chart
based on a test run after machine calibration.
- Monitor process control.
- Develop new procedures to
support the amended process.
- Simulation Overview:
- In the simulation at the
end of this unit, you will meet with Janet
Porter, Director of Business Development at
Icon International, and Stephen Johnson, Product
Manager. Stephen will come to this meeting
as part of his training and is looking forward
to hearing about your experiences at the bottling
facility.
Unit
3: Process Capability (1 - 2 hours)
- Identify a method for analyzing
variance.
- Recognize the initial stages
of a process capability analysis.
- Identify the later stages
of a process capability analysis.
- Identify the relationship
between process capability and process distribution.
- Simulation Overview:
- In the simulation at the
end of this unit, you will meet with Bruce
Madison, Director of Information Services
at Icon International, and Maggie Roberts,
Vice President of Products and Services. You
will be running a training session solely
dedicated to the individual stages of a process
capability study.
